Quint Editions presents a new monograph on recent photography by Lee Materazzi with texts by poet Jasmine Kitses.  Materazzi is a contemporary artist from Miami, FL now living and working in San Francisco, California. In 2005 she received her BFA in sculpture from Central St. Martins in London.

The subject matter in her work is inspired by the mundane: a folding chair, discarded box or a roll of tape. She uses her body alongside these materials to open up conversations of motherhood, gender and sexuality—domestic and erotic entanglements captured through color, composition and balance. The end result is a sculptural and performative scene that highlights social roles, routines and gestures frequently overlooked in our everyday lives.

Not No Touching contains work that has been made in part with her two children; Mia and Brook. Throughout this book there are many of their works and marks. Most of the pieces featured by her children were made between the ages of 4 and 8.

Jasmine Kitses is a writer from Leicester, England who lives and works in San Francisco. She has written about punctuation in the poetry of George Oppen, C.S. Giscombe, and Lorine Niedecker.

The featured texts throughout this publication explore the limits of expression, movement, and physical touch, which we try to elide through memory, desire, and (be)longing.
