Overview

Quint Gallery is excited to announce that ONE, a satellite of Quint Gallery, is moving from La Jolla to Logan Heights. ONE will be relocating to Bread & Salt, a 45,000 square-foot arts center made up of multiple gallery, studio and event spaces.

The former Cramer Baker (opened in the late 1800’s and later sold to Weber’s Bread in 1943) includes Bread & Salt Gallery and Artist Residency, Ice Gallery, Best Practice, and The Athenaeum Arts Center. The building fosters arts and culture in every way, as home to artist studios, event spaces, and most recently, Mujeres Brew House, the first nonprofit Latina-women led craft beer brewery.

ONE will reopen with its founding concept - acting as a space to enjoy a single, monumental work of art. The original ONE on Girard Avenue will remain open as an additional Quint Gallery location, exhibiting rotating solo and group exhibitions.

The first exhibition at ONE at Bread & Salt will be a work titled Three Light Boxes for One Wall, by French conceptual artist Daniel Buren, known for his in situ installations and light-based sculptures of stripes and simplified patterns. Buren’s works are in the collections of the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the Tate Modern in London, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, among others. He lives and works in Paris, France.
